Cylinders may fail for any number of reasons. Common issues include a leaking cylinder (or leaking seal), a bent piston rod or corrosion within the cylinder itself. Other issues may be attributed to damage to the clevis, gland, ports, end cap or even improper pressure. Likewise, contaminated hydraulic fluid or the incorrect original installation of the cylinder can also cause failure.
